I need a cover for book 2.
I haven't liked any of my own attempts at creating covers, so I'm making something of a contest out of it.

Prize:
*Your artwork on the cover of a book
*$200 (two hundred dollars)
*Your name in my book as cover artist
*Link to your DA/website/company/wherever you sell your art from on my Author Blog, website, and here. (AKA, free advertisement if you're trying to start a freelance business doing something like this)
*My possibly coming back to you later with more requests for book covers and sending other indie authors your direction.

Rules:
*YOU MUST OWN THE ORIGINAL COPYRIGHT TO THE PICTURE YOU SEND. No fanart or artwork that includes elements from previously published materials by other companies. Use of my materials as reference IS allowed.
*No repurposed artwork drawn for something else, or previously published online or offline. Pictures must be completely new and specifically drawn for the purpose of being my book cover.
*Full color preferred. Unless the picture is so totally badass in black and white/grayscale, or minimal color that it demands attention from a distance.
*This contest ends July 31st. 2011.

Other:
*I do not have to choose a picture from the contest entries (though, since I've gone through the trouble of all this, I most likely will).
*Once I choose a picture, I will snail-mail a contractual agreement that states that I own the picture and all rights to it from that point onwards. This contract will need to be signed and notarized by a bank and mailed back to me before I can send you the money order of $200.
*This means that you may not sell this picture to anyone else for any reason without my permission, nor can you sell it without my name (K. E. Ireland) and book title (Symbol of Hope) on it. You may keep a copy of the picture in your portfolio.
*Submissions not chosen remain the property of their creators. However, I retain the rights to anything that is unmistakably mine, you may not sell it without permission, but you can post the picture as fanart. Sorry to sound mean/Nazi about it, but big anime companies can eat the loss on profits from fanart. I can't. In short: You can post your fanart of my stuff, but you can't sell it.

Submission Guidelines:
*Final product should be 5"x8", 300 resolution jpg.
*My name (K. E. Ireland) and book title (Symbol of Hope) should already be on the picture (or obvious space left for me to place these elements in).
*To send your submission, save the file down to a 72 resolution jpg, and email as an attachment to ALORIA(at)NATANFLEETSHOW(dot)COM with the subject "SOH COVER" (the saved down file is for submission purposes only. Keep the 300 resolution file separate in case I select your artwork).
*The contest ends July 31st, 2011.
